Tesla has launched its new Oasis Supercharger, the long-promised EV charging station of the future, with a solar farm and off-grid batteries. Early in the deployment of the Supercharger network, Tesla promised to add solar arrays and batteries to the Supercharger stations, and CEO Elon Musk even. Yes, Tesla does have solar charging solutions—but not in the way you might expect. While Tesla doesn't sell a standalone “solar charger” for its electric vehicles (EVs), the company integrates solar power into its broader energy ecosystem through products like Solar Panels, Powerwall, and its Solar. Tesla's largest Supercharger hub has been officially launched and it runs on solar power with battery storage. The new hub is also mostly off-grid. Dubbed "Project Oasis," this is not just another pin on the map.
