The new hub will support heavy-duty fleet electrification in one of Spain's most strategically important logistics gateways, bringing new charging infrastructure to a location serving local, regional and long-distance freight routes. VALENCIA, Spain, 11/06/2026 – Prologis and PragmaCharge today announced plans to deliver a dedicated electric heavy-truck charging hub at MercaValencia, next to the Port of Valencia, with capacity to charge up to 48 electric heavy-goods vehicles simultaneously once fully operational. This action is part of the MOVES III – INFRASTRUCTURE COMMUNITY OF VALENCIA programme, promoted. The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) has as strategic goal to reach carbon neutrality in the year 2030. It is essential for the sustainability of these facilities that they operate as "green ports," taking into account not only economic, but also environmental and social. Spain's electric vehicle charging infrastructure has undergone a remarkable transformation, with the network exploding from 27,420 operational points in November 2023 to 46,684 by May 2025 – a staggering 70% increase in just 18 months that positions the country among Europe's most aggressive EV. On 1 April 2025, the Spanish Council of Ministers, following a proposal from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), approved the extension of the MOVES III incentive programme until 31 December 2025, with retroactive effect from 1 January 2025.
